ACA Masters Tour Diary - Renmark

The ACA Masters hit the South Australian town of Renmark in November.

During their visit the ACA Masters took a local development squad for a master class in cricket, entertained locals at a Sportsman's night, held a junior clinic, visited the local hospital and took on a Renmark 'Bikes and Boats' Invitation XI in a Twenty20 match at Renmark Oval.

A 1000 strong crowd watched as the match went down to the final ball, with captain Matthew Elliott delivering a nerveless final delivery – a ‘dot’ ball when 4 runs were required – to deliver a well-earned victory.

Earlier, Ben Johnson (59no) and Tim Nielsen (42) carried the Masters to a total 6-145 with some impressive power-hitting.

The former teammates smashed 15 boundaries between them, rescuing the Masters from a disappointing total, following a nervy start to the innings.
