PAUL MARSH – CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Paul joined the Australian Cricketers’ Association as Manager, Member Services and Operations in October 2001. Prior to joining the ACA, Paul was the Sales and Marketing Manager with the Port Adelaide Football Club for over four years where he was responsible for managing the sponsorship, special events and merchandise departments.
His role at the ACA has involved successful negotiations of the 2005/09 Memorandum of Understanding with Cricket Australia along with the development of the ACA’s current Strategic Plan. Paul is also responsible for the development and implementation of the new commercial arm of the ACA, Players Own.
Paul commenced as Chief Executive Officer of the ACA in July 2005 and coming from a family with a fine Australian cricket pedigree, he possesses invaluable insight into the life of cricketers and the pressures they face.
Paul has a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University and is currently completing his Masters of Business Administration through Southern Cross University.
PETER ROACH – MANAGER CRICKET OPERATIONS & MEMBERSHIP
Peter joined the Australian Cricketers’ Association in November 2008.
Peter participated in 25 first-class games for Victoria over the years 1995 to 2005.
Prior to joining the ACA, Peter was the General Manager of the Dandenong Basketball Association, one of the largest basketball Associations in Australia with over 800 domestic teams, where he was responsible for all staff, operations and management of the stadium.
His role at the Australian Cricketers’ Association involves growing and servicing the membership, managing issues as they arise from the membership, and having an involvement in the development of new initiatives that will develop our game and the lives of our past and present players.
Peter completed a Bachelor of Business (Sport Management) from Deakin University (Burwood) in 1996.
BEN SMITH – NATIONAL CAREER & WELFARE MANAGER
Ben was appointed to the newly created position of National Career and Welfare Manager in September 2005. Prior to this, Ben spent four years as the Human Resource Manager for Resolve FM where he was responsible for general HR duties for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
His role at the Australian Cricketers’ Association involves working with State Associations and Cricket Australia to deliver career and welfare services to past and present players along with developing new initiatives to service the needs of the ACA’s membership base. Since commencing with the ACA, Ben has commenced implementing a number of new programs that will benefit past and present players.
Ben completed a Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) from Monash University in 1993.
SARAH MITCHELL – MANAGER, EVENTS & COMMERCIAL SERVICES
Sarah joined the Australian Cricketers’ Association in February 2006 where she was appointed to the newly created position of Manager, Commercial and Agency Operations. Previously she spent five years at the AFL Players’ Association where her knowledge of the use of player attributes and licensing has allowed her to manage the player licensing program at the ACA.
Her responsibilities at the ACA also include management of the ACA Golf Day and the Allan Border Medal.
Sarah is also involved in the commercial arm of the ACA.
Sarah has a Bachelor of Commerce which she obtained from Deakin University.
BILL LEANE - MARKETING AND SPONSORSHIP MANAGER
Bill Leane joined the ACA as Marketing and Sponsorship Manager in September 2007.
Bill has previously worked in a number of marketing and sponsorship roles, including General Manager of Group Marketing & Strategic Planning for Autobarn Group.
He has also held General Manager Marketing positions for The Good Guys and Carpet Choice.
As a current Level 2 coach and President of his local cricket club, Bill has a clear passion for and strong interest in cricket and is a valuable asset to the ACA.
LAUREN GALLOWAY - OFFICE MANAGER
Lauren commenced at the Australian Cricketers’ Association in November 2007.
Prior to this she spent six years with AFL SportsReady where she was involved in contract management, marketing and events.
Her responsibilities at the ACA include coordination of the ACA office and it’s finances, maintenance of the ACA website and payroll.
SHARN BEST - ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
Sharn Best commenced her role as Administration Assistant in January 2007 as part of the AFL Sports Ready Traineeship program.
Having successfully completed her traineeship, Sharn is now an integral part of the ACA team.
She is the first port of call for all ACA members and works across all areas of the ACA business.
Prior to her employment with the ACA, Sharn completed her VCE studies at Kerang Technical High School, before relocating to Melbourne.
TARRYN PATEN - MANAGER COMMUNICATIONS & SPECIAL PROJECTS
Tarryn has worked for the ACA for more than ten years, predominantly as Manager Events & Communications.
She joined the ACA from the AFLPA and has been an integral part of the ACA's events and increasing profile.
As a mother of two, Tarryn now works on a part-time basis.
Tarryn has a Bachelor of Arts & Communications from RMIT.
