New South Wales' fast-bowling contingent tore through Queensland at Allan Border Field on Monday to help the Blues open their Matador cup with two-straight wins.
Josh Hazwelwood (3-47) took his two-match tally to ten wickets, while Gurinder Sandhu (3-37) and Moises Henriques (3-28) proved to be equally as dangerous, helping dismiss Queensland for just 190 in the 43rd over.
Peter Nevill (43) did his best to get the run chase off to a steady start before the Blues lost 3-36 to find themselves battling at 5-96 at the end of the 30th over.
With 94 runs still needed for victory, Ben Rohrer (52) and Ryan Carters (41no) knuckled down to put on a match-winning 91-run partnership, allowing Josh Lalor (9no) to bring-up victory with a four midway through the 48th over.
The two teams will play out a rematch at the Brisbane Cricket Ground on Friday.
