An Alex Doolan century guided the Australia to 8-273 on on day two of their tour match against Pakistan A in Sharjah, after a slow start from the Australian XI.
Australia lost the early wickets of Chris Rogers (0), Phil Hughes (14) and Michael Clarke (10).
Steve Smith and Doolan combined solidly for a 106-run partnership to steady the Australian innings. Smith and Doolan both then retired out on 58 and 104 respectively to allow other to have a bat in the second half of the days play.
Australia finished their innings with 273 runs, 32 runs behind Pakistan's first innings score of 305.
This match is not a first-class fixture and the teams will play innings of 90 overs each.
