Hughes smashes record-breaking 202

Phil Hughes produced one of most impressive knocks of his career to date, when he blasted an unbeaten 202 off just 151 balls for Australia A in Darwin on Tuesday.

Opening alongside Cameron White (17), Hughes got comortable before sinking his teeth into the South African bowling lineup, bringing up his the milestone with a six off the final ball of the innings.

Hughes tore off 18 fours and six sixes on his way to the equal 11th highest individual total in a List A history.

Moises Henriques also starred, posting an 85-ball 90, as Australia A went on to post 4-349.

South Africa A's run chase was halted by a constant fall of wickets and they were eventually dismissed for 201 in the 38th over, leaving them at the foot of the tournament table.

Kane Richardson (4-45) was once again the danger man with the ball, with Cameron Boyce (2-34), Cameron White (2-20) and Mitchell Marsh (1-35) sharing in the other wickets.

With India A defeating the NPS squad, Australia sit second on the table, trailing Inida with a less superior Net Run Rate.

They face India A tomorrow at Marra Oval, while South Africa A face NPS at Gardens Oval in Darwin.
