Cricket Australia today added Nathan Lyon to the Australia A squad ahead of their second four-day match against India A, starting on Sunday at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.
Commenting on the addition of Lyon, Darren Lehmann said:
“Nathan has been added to the squad to give him the opportunity to play some first-class cricket in preparation for Australia’s upcoming tour against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates in October.”
With the second match to be played on the same wicket as the first, a second spinner is guaranteed to play after a whopping 1294 runs were scored over the four days of Game 1 (at an average of 54 runs per wicket). Queensland leggie Cameron Boyce took four wickets in India A's first innings.
Lyon is currently in Brisbane training at the National Cricket Centre.
