Sandhu snares three on slow first day

South Africa A are 5-220 at stumps on the first day of their four-day match against Australia A at Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville.

South Africa A captain Justin Ontong led from the front notching 86 runs before he was caught out by Matthew Wade at short leg in the second last over of the day, while Temba Bavuma (55) continued his good form from the previous match another half century.

Gurinder Sandhu (3-60) and Steve O'Keefe (2-40) were the wicket-takers for Australia A, despite not picking up a wicket Clint McKay returned economical figures of 0-34 from his 20 overs.
