The Perth Scorchers have become the first BBL franchise to win back-to-back titles after their thrilling victory over the Sydney Sixers at Manuka Oval on Wednesday night.
After a strong start to the run chase, it came down to the last ball, where Yasir Arafat managed to push a quick single after Sixers skipper Moises Henriques fumbled a run out opportunity that would have forced a Super Over.
Brett Lee was outstanding in his final professional appearance, taking 3-25 (4), which included 2-7 off the final over of the match.
Perth openers Shaun Marsh (73) and Michael Klinger (33) did most of the damage with the bat, while Henriques (77) and Ryan Carters (35no) closed out the Sixers innings well to leave their rivals with a target of 148.
Jason Behrendorff once again showed why he was crowned Domestic Player of the Year at Tuesday's Allan Border Medal ceremony by taking 1-19 (4).
