Australia are 7-517 at stumps on day two of the first Test in Adelaide, after a gutsy partnership from Michael Clarke and Steve Smith.
Clarke (128) and Smith combines for 163 in a day that was interrupted with rain and bad light.
The Aussie skipper surprised everyone when he made his way to the crease for the first ball on day two, after sustaining a back injury that had looked to have ended his match the day before.
Smith showed his class and continued on from current good form to remained unbeaten after bad light halted play late in the day.
Play will start half an hour earlier on day three to make up for some lost time.
