Voges wins Sheffield Shield Player of the Year

Adam Voges' prolific season with the bat has been recognised with the West Australian captain named Bupa Sheffield Shield Player of the Year.

The 35-year-old batsman notched up 249 against South Australia in February, his highest ever first-class score. Voges' 1,215 runs this season sits eighth on the all-time list for most runs in a Shield season, and needs another 292 runs to overhaul Simon Katich's effort for NSW in 2007-08.
