Reports To:

Club Executive, ACA Premier Cricket Program Manager

Remuneration:

  • Between $7,500 & $17,500 is available to Premier Clubs to engage ACA members which can be distributed across multiple members.
  • No individual ACA member is able to access more than $10,000 of program funding.
  • (Eligible only to uncontracted ACA Members)

Purpose:

The Premier Cricket Program has been designed to support ACA members in their post-cricket lives via a program that retains and harnesses the skill, experience and knowledge of ACA Members to identify, instruct and inspire talent through the Premier Cricket pathway.

Program Objectives:

  • Provide a platform for ACA Members to remain in Premier Cricket through playing, coaching, talent identification and administrative roles
  • Narrow the gap between Premier Cricket and High Performance/ Domestic Cricket
  • Create additional opportunities for clubs to support and enhance existing budgets and structures
  • Grow a sustainable program that ensures Premier Cricket remains the lifeblood of Australian Cricket within the National Player Pathway
  • Retain Australian and Domestic Cricketers who are able to support young talent
  • Provide a higher level competition for all players involved in Premier Cricket
  • Excite, inspire and improve the next generation of Australian and Domestic Cricketers
  • Support the development of emerging talent while balancing club objectives

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Roles & Responsibilities could include one or more of the following
  • First Grade Player
  • Second Eleven Player including a leadership role
  • Provide detailed reports twice a season that monitors the progress of other program objectives
  • Selection Role
  • Mentor talent – emotionally and physically
  • Linkage to State Talent Manager (STM)– support and promote player pathway objectives
  • Model High Performance (HP) Best practice playing approaches/routines
  • Promotion of Premier Cricket as the elite pathway
  • Meet minimum standards agreed to by club, player and ACA/CA
  • Support and attend club functions
  • Act as role model for players, parents and officials  
  • Available to commit to the full season – games and training
  • Assist at training with specialist sessions
  • Assist with club development programs
  • Facilitate consistent communication between players and club officials
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses in Premier Cricket

 

Playing Requirements:

  • Available match days or as agreed with Club/ACA
  • Available to play all formats or as agreed with Club/ACA
  • Mentor junior players at training and in games
  • Share talent identification and development observations with STM’s and state academies
  • Align and integrate with Premier Cricket’s ethos ‘Be part of the Club’
  • Achieve key obligations/KPI’s of ACA program
  • Willingness to participate in the induction, development and appointment process
