The Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA), in partnership with Cricket Australia and State organisations nationally, are offering eight, paid sport administration internships for ACA members looking to develop their careers. The internships have been made possible through funds contributed by the current players and through partnerships with Cricket Australia and the State Associations.
The Program is a terrific example of how current players are funding initiatives to benefit fellow members and strengthen the game.
In its fifth year, the 2019 program offers a wide variety of diverse opportunities, detailed below:
The ACA Internship Program was developed as an opportunity for ACA members to gain work experience and is available to all ACA members.
Infront Sports Consulting (via people2people) will manage the application process.
For further information, please call Ryan Higgins or Erin Devlin at Infront Sports Consulting on 1300 338 546 or ACA Player Transition Manager Carla Dziwoki on 0422 387 755.
All applications will require your current Curriculum Vitae and a cover letter detailing:
- Your preferred internship option
- Your availability to complete the ten-week placement
Placements can be completed full or part time, in-season or during the off-season, with flexibility around training, playing and other commitments.
Western Australian Cricket Association: Turf Intern
Working in the Strategic Projects & Facilities department, the Turf Intern will assist in the maintenance of the WACA Ground, turf wickets, and garden beds. These facilities must meet the needs of fans, teams, grassroots participants, and staff that are exposed to them. This is an excellent opening for an intern wanting to shape their turf and horticultural skills and be held to a high standard of presentation.
“A great experience - huge thanks to Erin and everyone at Cricket NSW for the opportunity to take part in the program. I learnt a lot in a very short amount of time and as a result of the program have been able to transition into a full time role here at Cricket NSW.”
“I loved every moment of my placement at CA, and I would recommend anyone who has the opportunity to work there, to grab it with both hands...The knowledge I accrued from my time at CA is a major factor for me getting a job at the conclusion of the program.”
“Fantastic experience...Although the internship was in GD Vanessa also understood I wished to experience many areas of the business and she facilitated and encouraged this.”
“The ACA Internship Program has been a great opportunity. Heading in to the program I had an idea of my post-cricket career objectives but this experience has given me a great deal of clarity on what role I would like to pursue after cricket and, most importantly, how I will get there.”
This is a rare opportunity to develop your skills in a high performance sport administration environment.
Applications close on Sunday March 31st at midnight.
