Vale Bert Rigg

18 Mar 2015

The ACA was saddened to learn on Tuesday of the passing of former WA cricketer and valued ACA member Bert Rigg, aged 91.

As a player he was a determined middle-order batsman who played 12 first-class games, while at club level he played 284 matches for East Perth and Perth, scoring 9005 runs and taking 186 wickets.

Following his playing career, Bert spent nearly three decades on the WACA Executive, the last eight as Chairman and was WA's representative on the then Australian Cricket Board for ten years.

Bert made an outstanding contribution to our great game over many decades as a player and administrator. He was both diligent and passionate in his on and off-field roles and had a significant impact on cricket at club, state and Australian level.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Bert's family.

As the Australian summer draws to an exciting and dramatic close, we would like to thank all members for their continued support of the ACA and its programs.
