Participation in sport, regardless of a person’s gender identity, is a basic human right and important for physical and mental wellbeing.
It is important for cricket to have a policy on this issue, at both the community and elite level, and we appreciate being involved in the consultation process on behalf of our players.
As we know from international sport, this requires an understanding of complex issues of science and law, which are still evolving.
We look forward to being consulted on the further development of these policies in due course.
