South Australian pair Callum Ferguson and Jake Weatherald have jumped up the leaderboard in the Sheffield Shield Captain's MVP Award.
After a magnificent chase-down victory against Western Australia, Weatherald collected the full ten votes from the captains after centuries in both innings. Callum Ferguson has enjoyed a productive few games, amassing a century in his 100th game last week, before a crucial 88 in the second innings against the Warriors.
South Australia have enjoyed a strong start to the year, moving up to third in the Sheffield Shield after last week's win, and a draw against Victoria in Round Two.
Mitchell Starc still leads the MVP award despite being rested this round before the first Test in Brisbane this week. Starc's lead has been cut by Cameron Bancroft, whose 228no was enough to earn him second on the leaderboard and a Test debut later this week.
Queensland all-rounder Michael Neser remained on 14 votes, despite another strong performance in the Bulls' loss to New South Wales, while Weatherald and Luke Feldman rounded out the top five.
The Sheffield Shield Captain's MVP award recognises who the Captains deemed the most valuable for each game over the course of the Sheffield Shield season.
Captains vote 5,4,3,2,1 at the end of each match on all players in the game, other than the Captains themselves, who are ineligible to receive votes in each round.
