India A defeated Australia A by four wickets in the final of the Quadrangular Series at Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin on Saturday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat Australia A captain Cameron White got his side off to a solid start, racking up 137 runs from 150 balls, which is a career-best in List A cricket for the Victorian. Fellow opener Phil Hughes continued his good form with the bat backing up his 202* and 58 from his last two matches with another half century, finishing with 51 runs to help his side to a total of 5-274 from their 50 overs. Dhawal Kulkarni was the only multiple wicket-taker for India A, finishing with figures of 3-51.
For India A Kedar Jadhav was the leading run-scorer with a knock of 78, including six fours and two sixes, while Rishi Dhawan (56*) Manoj Tiwary (50) also finished with half centuries. India A chased down the set target in the 49th over, finishing 6-275. Ben Cutting (3-46) was the pick of the Australia A bowlers with Kane Richardson (1-58) the only other bowler to pick up a wicket.
Australia A all-rounder Mitch Marsh was named player-of-the-series, with his highlights including 63 runs and 3-41 against India A and 5-50 against the National Performance Squad.
