Legendary former Australian fast bowler Merv Hughes will play in Sale as part of the Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) Masters Tour from 20-21 November.
Hughes has been added to the team to take on an invitational XI from the Sale-Maffra Cricket Association in an action packed Twenty20 game on Friday 20th November at Sale Oval from 5pm.
Entry is just a gold coin donation with BBQ and refreshments available.
The burly paceman took 212 Test wickets in a stellar career punctuated by lion-hearted performances with the ball and stout resistance with the bat. He played a key role in helping Australia become a force in world cricket and also served as a national selector.
Earlier this year Hughes took on the South African jungle as a contestant of Channel 10’s Australian edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! He quickly became a fan favourite with the viewers back in Australia, while losing a whopping 17kgs in the process.
Activities on the tour will also include a T20 Blast competition for young school children from the Sale-Maffra region throughout the afternoon prior to the match and a function following the game featuring the former Australian cricketers.
