ACA General Manager - Member Programs Clea Smith, said the $1,000 scholarship recognises a player 15-18 years of age, will help the recipient in meeting coaching, travel and other cricketing expenses.
“As well as the financial assistance, we recognise that these young players need positive role models and who better than a former elite player to offer them guidance,” she said.
“It’s vital that we foster our country cricket talent. Many of our current and former Australian players have come from regional parts of Australia.
"The youth scholarship is a very important part of our Masters program, leaving a lasting legacy in the communities we visit."
The tour will also include an evening with the ACA Masters, held at the Cobram Top Pub on Thursday 25th from 7:30pm.
The ACA Masters team will include Alex Blackwell, John Hastings, Wayne Phillips, Julia Price and Ryan Sidebottom, with more players to be announced in coming weeks.
