The Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars have recorded an eight-wicket win over Pakistan in the third Women's T20 (WT20 INTL) of the Commonwealth Bank International Women's Series on the Gold Coast on Wednesday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat Pakistan put on 9-84 from their 20 overs, which the Australian side chased down in 12 overs, finishing 2-87. Elyse Villani was named player of the match for her knock of 50 and her two run outs.
Marina Iqbal (11) and Nain Abidi (30*) were the only batters to reach double figures for Pakistan, while Delissa Kimmince picked up career-best T20 bowling figures of 2-17. Kristen Beams made her international T20 debut and picked up a tidy 1-13 from her three overs.
Villani (50) continued her good form with the bat this series by adding a half century to get her side off to a solid start in their run chase. Villani and Meg Lanning (24*) put on a 68-run partnership before the opener was bowled by Maham Tariq (1-11).
